very fresh and high-quality sandwiches I got the mortadella. I think most of the sandwiches here are served with focaccia bread, which is delicious. Definitely will be back to try the Italian sandwich.
Just pay the $20 for the sandwich! These are HUGE! My husband and I usually each pick one then we share, and have the next meal from them. We've even been known to split one. I love the ham, the grilled cheese with fig, or even the Italian! All delicious. And, I don't like sandwiches!
Lucia's is hands down the best sandwich shop I've ever encountered. The sandwich options are many and many are outstandingly delicious. The only downside is this location doesn't have equally delicious breakfast sandwiches, which you can get at the Crockett location.
After skunking at Eckley Pier, there is nothing better to cheer you up than to stop at Lucia's for a sandwich. I had the Genoa Salamai and it was thicc. A very generous amount of meat. The greens were crisp and dressing on point. There was also a convenient passageway into the coffee shop next door.
Absolutely top tier! Quality ingredients, lots of options, Acme bread, super nice staff... All around A+! The online ordering process is a breeze and will be ready in a bag when you walk in if you give it 20 minutes or so! I've ordered and eaten nearly every sandwich. Ironically, none of the grilled cheese ones tho! All have been great or amazing! Great work, Lucia's!
I've never had such an incredibly delicious sandwich that was stacked as much as this one was!! What I mean is, usually when a sandwich is stacked, the meat just sits in your belly like a rock but the meat here is so fresh and properly sliced that you can't believe you actually finished it ... see that's the other awesome part .. i am a big dude, 6'3",265lb and I fill up here to perfection. The walls are simply decorated in a hipster oakland kinda of way -- in fact this whole place, including the amazing staff, has a berkeley/oakland feel to it .. by that I mean, kind staff, fresh ingredients and a chill vibe.
I've been here 3x now. First time I got the prosciutto sandwich. Huge. Filling. Delicious. Tasted like quality ingredients. Second time I got an ACE breakfast sandwich with spicy peppers and gremolata. Idek what gremolata is but I'd get it again in heartbeat. Third time, I went there to get the same thing as my second time there, gremolata and all. But it was after breakfast time so I got the egg salad sandwich. Divine. Delicious bread. I'm getting hungry just thinking about all of these sandwiches. I'll keep going and trying as many things as possible on the menu! Everyone working there has been so kind and welcoming. It's a small spot but they have a clean bathroom and places to sit. I've always taken to go or had someone else pick it up and bring it back (I work nearby) but maybe one day I'll stay. Run don't walk here folks!
One of the few places that still makes a great sandwich. Great quality meat and well prepared. It's certainly worth driving a little further to visit. Deduct 1 star for wait time! You might be waiting for 20-30min, order ahead.
No complaints here. The folks who run this place understand all of the important parts of making a sandwich. The bread is fresh. There are ample options of bespoke ingredients accommodating all comers. The ingredients are placed in the correct proportions and they have a few suprises. IE Apricot Jam on a Ham Sandwich. Brilliant. Don't alter ingredients, go with it! Ambiance is that of a sandwich shop. Sandwiches run from $10-18 with Deli, Toastie and Grill Cheese configurations
Italian. Super good and big. Packed thick and full of meats, cheese, and the pickled peppers and onions bring it all together. Though pricey at $19, it's probably good enough to feed 1.5 - 2 people. Many more sandos we want to come back and try
